happy birthday to me!

Yes, all, I am twenty-five today…I have officially hit the quarter-century mark. I realized on Holy saturday that I have been going to my parish for twenty-three years. That’s pretty amazing. I’ve received all my sacraments except baptism there (that was at my mom’s home parish in Baldwin/South Park, PA), and can even remember where I was sitting in the church. My brother and sister also received all their sacraments there. Lots of history in that church for me, over twenty-three years, especially since I also graduated from the school (class of ‘96!).

I just can’t believe I”m 25. That seems kind of old, but at the same time I haven’t totally adjusted to being an “adult” yet, even though I live in my own place, etc. It kind of feels like extended college, you know? Especially since I’ve worked in the same place (but not the same job) since I graduated.

Since I was born on Good Friday (at2:47 PM…kinda close for comfort, eh?), I also consider Good Friday sort of my birthday…almost like a name day/ saint’s day, what have you. It holds special significance for me, and my birthday has coincided with it more than once. I tend to get either Palm Sunday or Good Friday. Next year, however, with Easter so early, I’ll definitely fall sometime during the Easter season.
